Health
I went to a company-sponsored health screening at work on Monday. I don’t remember the last time I did a fasting blood glucose/cholesterol/etc workup and I haven’t the faintest idea of what my results were. But I figured, if I’m 3 weeks out from an Ironman, I should probably be in pretty good shape, no? At the same time, knowing how much food I’m hoovering these days, I thought, Who knows? I might have terrible results!
Total Cholesterol: 136 (<200 mg/dL = Ideal)
LDL Cholesterol (the “bad”): 45 (<100 mg/dL = Ideal)
HDL Cholesterol (the “good”): 74 (>60 mg/dL = Ideal)
Triglycerides: 84 (<150 mg/dL = Ideal)
Glucose (fasting): 85 (<100 mg/dL = Ideal)
Blood Pressure: 120/82 (slightly high)*
* I blame 7 hours of salt tabs on the bike/run the day before and my subsequent puffy state for this one. I’ve always had great blood pressure, I can’t imagine a year of Ironman training would make it higher. The “health consultant” assigned to interpret my results agreed.
Scottsdale
It’s still warm and sunny paradise here. Good to know some things never change! And my favorite pool of all time, which I only get to use when I’m here, is as lovely, clean and empty as ever!
Dogs
Peppy and over-enthusiastic. In other words, completely normal. At the moment they are out running laps in the yard in 90-degree heat. They’re wondering why we aren’t at a show or trial yet (I think they’ve forgotten we don’t *only* road trip for those things). 2 more days, boys.

Feelings of inadequacy? Check.
Thoughts that I didn’t swim enough yards or work hard enough in the pool? Check.
Concerns over my general fitness and readiness? Check.
All to be expected, I am told!

I'm starting to feel that way, too ! I told my husband tonight at dinner that I feel like I haven't really trained at all.
his response: REALLY?!
you are ready, girlie !! are you in Az already ??
Tapertantrum. I get one monthly, but I'm told they are something totally different.
That bp is pretty darn good, too!
Cute frisbee :)
Sounds like you're in ideal condition to do an ironman! :)
You did enough Molly and you are READY!!! I love that pool. The doggies, as always, adorable.
"Tapertantrum" is so true. TRUST in ELF is the sticker that should be on the bike.
That pool looks divine.
You will feel more confident when your Rock arrives. Jeff will convince you that you are confident, and IM ready.
I will be thinking of you in the next two weeks! We get home from hmoon on the friday before IM AZ so i can track you to my hearts content!
Good numbers, your HDL is sky high, good girl!
