I got a lot of funny comments on Facebook the other day when I excitedly posted about how much spinach I could cram into a smoothie that still tasted good. Or perhaps disbelief is a better word :-) And so, I give you…the smoothie making process. This thing packs a whole lot of fiber!
Start with basic cheap blender
Ingredients: Almond milk, 1 banana, frozen berries, spinach
Start with as much spinach as you want. I used 4 cups here.
Add 1 cup plain almond milk. (You could probably use regular milk if you wanted but I like almond milk for the lower calories and mild flavor)
Add 1 banana.
Add frozen berries (I used 3/4 cup).
Blend.
Keep blending, and mashing things down, until liquified.
The end result is a not-green-colored berry-flavor-dominated smoothie that gives you a ton of veggie servings as well!
Yum!

Mmmm, that looks good. I'll have to give it a try!
Good stuff! :) Whenever I make smoothies I always make sure to put in just enough berries to make sure it comes out a good color that doesn't make me want to vomit. :)
Thanks for posting! Might just have to try almond milk... :)
I'm gonna have to try that. Lots of good stuff in there!
Hmm, I might have to try and jump on the green smoothie bandwagon...
I'm also amazed that I can put 2 large carrots into my juicer with an apple and it tastes great. I usually add a small handful of spinach but had no idea I could put in as much as you did! Will definitely need to try this...
Yum. I've been adding carrots to mine too.
OK< this looks like something I could drink, though I really like spinach - I eat it sauteed with garlic and olive oil, one bag at a time:)
I love spinach in my smoothies...I've even started adding it to my recovery smoothies after workouts...amazing!!
That is crazy! I was totally picturing something green! I will have to try that. I've never tried almond milk either, can you get it at regular grocery stores?
you call that new fangled gadget a blender? Hmmmph!
Perfect! I love green smoothies and we drink them all the time! :)
Here is where I originally learned you can put tons and tons of spinach in smoothies without tasting it...

Yum, your smoothie is the same as mine, I add hemp protein powder and chia seeds too! (and sometimes almond butter, sounds gross, tastes good!).
